About

Red Thread Commons (RTC) is an arts and social justice organization that seeks to document history from the ground up by amplifying the stories of citizen-artists on community stages. This digital archive preserves the records of RTC's activities and productions since its founding in 2004.

A Chinese proverb states that an invisible red thread of destiny connects us all. It is said that though it may stretch or tangle, this thread will never break. RTC seeks to bring together small performance ensembles of citizen-artists to tell their own stories, thus revealing the unbreakability of that human bond.

This project is the result of a final project assigned by Professor Mark Wolfe in the Information Science graduate program at the University at Albany in Summer 2022.
